Flash Metadata?
Modern cameras offer a variety of ways to brighten photos in a setting that doesn't allow a lot of light to reach the sensor of the camera. In many cases, it is better and recommended to employ Flash instead of a flashlight to temporarily illuminate the scene. Particularly, indoor shots typically require Flash to properly illuminate and clear photos.
If you are looking through the camera RAW files as well as other image files that were created when you take a photo with smartphones or cameras, Exif information regarding the extent to which Flash was employed (on) and not (off) is typically available. Based on the camera and the mode or type that Flash is used in Flash is also listed. This includes, among other things:
- auto
- External
- Red-eye reduction
